Sonnedix achieves financial close for 5.5 MW of operational capacity in the Shimane prefecture

03 August 2020

Tokyo, Japan – On 17 July 2020, Sonnedix Japan, on behalf of the Sonnedix Group of companies (Sonnedix Group), completed a JPY 2.4bn (EUR 20 million) project financing led by Iyo Bank.

The financing covers two operational solar PV plants acquired earlier this year in the Shimane prefecture totalling 5.5 MW. Both are ground-mounted plants and have been in operation since 2018.

“We are very pleased to have reached this latest financial close in Japan, as we continue to grow our presence in this market. During the first half of 2020, our team at Sonnedix Japan has managed to drive business forward despite the challenges we are facing, and I am incredibly proud of seeing Sonnedix expand its platform in Japan, through acquisition and development, as part of our wider growth strategy.” said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix.

Sonnedix Japan KK (“Sonnedix Japan”) currently manages on behalf of Sonnedix 133 MW of solar PV capacity in operation, with a further 205 MW in various stages of construction.
